Alternative Data firm SmartMarketData, LLC has added research professional and economic commentator Jon Hartley to its growing Team.
Jon is an economic researcher specializing in macroeconomics and finance. He is currently a Visiting Fellow at the Foundation for Research on Equal Opportunity and a Research Associate at the Committee on Capital Markets Regulation. He has previously worked at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, as a Dallas Cowboys Statistical Analyst and in various government roles at the World Bank, U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee, Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Jon writes economic commentary for many of the nation's most circulated outlets, makes frequent television appearances and was named to the 2017 Forbes 30 Under 30 Law & Policy list and the 2017 Wharton 40 Under 40 list. He is also a World Economic Forum Global Shaper. Jon has also attended the University of Chicago (B.A. in Economics and Mathematics with Honors), the The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania (M.B.A.) and the Harvard Kennedy School (M.P.P.).
